SECTION 07910
PREFORMED JOINT SEALS
NOTE ** Polytite Manufacturing Corp. precompressed, self-
expanding polyurethane foam sealers.
NOTE **
NOTE ** This section is based on products made by Polytite
Manufacturing Corporation, which is located at:
NOTE ** 324 Rindge Avenue
NOTE ** Cambridge, MA 02140
NOTE ** Tel: (617) 864-0930
NOTE ** Fax: (617) 864-9006
NOTE **
NOTE ** Polytite offers a complete line of foam sealers to
satisfy a wide variety of waterproofing needs.
Polytite's innovative product line has four times
more waterproofing agent than other commonly
specified joint sealers or fillers. This is why
their joint sealers are watertight, not just
weathertight.

NOTE ** The following joint seal is the type used for most
vertical and horizontal joints. It is available 1)
without any special surface (Polytite STANDARD), 2)
with colored elastomeric facing (Polytite "R"), or
3) with a bond breaker face for subsequent
application of a silicone or urethane sealant
(Polytite "B").
B. Preformed Joint Seals (Standard): Polytite Manufacturing
Corp. "Polytite"; precompressed, self-expanding
polyurethane foam impregnated with hydrophobic polymer
waterproofing agent, with self-adhesive faces.
NOTE ** Delete one or both of the following two paragraphs.
1. Exposed surfaces: Puncture-resistant elastomeric
coating; "Polytite R"; color as selected.
2. Exposed surfaces: Bond breaker release agent;
"Polytite B."
3. Density: 10 lb/cu ft (160 kg/cu m).
NOTE ** Verify the conditions in the following paragraph.
4. Thickness: Selected by Contractor for minimum ___
percent material compression, based on manufacturer's
data and expected width of actual joints under most
extreme conditions.
NOTE ** Delete one or both of the following two paragraphs.
5. Color: Black.
6. Color: Selected from manufacturer's full range.
NOTE ** The following joint seal is intended for horizontal
applications that are subject to solvents or fuels
such as those found in road and bridge joints,
parking garages and airport runways. It is also
suitable for joints subject to heavy traffic or
point loading such as fork lift or high heel
traffic.
